NEW VENTURE @YBTC - FONDANT VIRGIN CAKE (PART II)

sape follow my blog mmg boring dok dengar lama ku nk belajar fondant tp tak gerak2. bukan apa, kalau tak tau fondant ni mcm ada bende yg halang kite nk move fwd.. especially time wedding. ok, buttercream/cream should taste better tp nk handle mmg jenuh sbb senang comot. lagi satu, bukan senang nk dpt texture frosting yg licin + kemas.. so one of the best solution mmg fondant. teringat kompiden sgt nk belajar masa raya tp malangnya kelas tu tak penuh2 so cikgu tak boleh start ajar. masa kelas ok, aku lak takleh join sbb ada komitment lain. so mmg takde rezeki nk belajar.. nk buat sendiri mmg tak confident.


waktu sera kawin, ralat sgt tak dpt buat padahal siang2 sera dh inbox nk design camner. nasib ada farisha so fwd sera kat farisha. tp jauh kat sudut hati ralat tu mmg ada.. kawan sendiri kawin kan :( .. then, aku mcm dh lupa niat nk belajar. tak penah jengok youtube sbb mmg tak confident nk belajar sendiri. nk uli pun dh cuak. borak2 ngn syap, last2 syap dh pi aku jugak tak belajar2.. until one day, ONE FINE DAY.....

MIL bgtau suh buat kek BIL during his big day. seriously i'm over the moon!! she's different.. so bile dia bgtau tu, i know deep inside her heart she recognize my talent and she appreciate it! thanks mak...



since YBTC still on leave, aku ada byk masa nk belajar .. for me nk belajar mmg boleh but the hardest part adalah nk yakinkan diri sendiri tu yg problem. ok ok.. it just a simple cake, no need to shout out to the whole world :P .. but, once u have passion and you know that's your biggest weakness automatically you will shivering and jadi down tiba2.. mcm in denial tak habih2..



paling boring part cuak ni mula la, tak yakin.. nk beli stock pun lambat2.. macam ada batu keras besar atas kepala.. haih, letihh! risau2, hari2 google jugak.. 2 weeks before wedding, aku start beli brg.. cuma main thing tak beli lagi sbb hati masih berkira2......


2 days before wedding baru terkial2 beli brg.. luckily dh booking awal2 white vanilla fondant. sbb kaler putih selalu sold out. cepat sgt! sedang elokla sbb wedding theme pun purple + white.. and for mw, white ni kaler selamat... selamat la utk first time cam aku...


BIL personally request nk red velvet. masa google rata2 org pakai kek yg firm mcm butter cake + choc cake yg standard tu. tp, i want something delicious & cantik.. kalau cantik je tapi tak sedap sia2 pulak.. tu sbb tau, masa my wedding 6 yrs back.. aku beli blackforest cake as my wedding cake! org sibuk nk kaler2 aku sibuk nk kek sedap.. huhuhu



satu je kelemahan RVC ni, dia velvety smooth.. soft.. moist. so double challenge la nk match ngn fondant yg gedik n tak direcoomend masuk fridge ni. amek! .. i bake 2 layer cakes, 200++ cuppies since thursday (balik meeting tender gile kat kl) .. continue on friday .. cuma cake bake dulu sbb cake lambat sejuk.. once cake dh bake, hati senang la nk bake cuppies sbb cupcakes kan budak baik, less stress :P

ready made fondant tu beli je, tapi tak check pun kaler betul ke texture ok ke.. dh nama pun cuak kan.. so, membengong2 kan diri... smyg mintak petunjuk, youtube 3-4 kali... at last, i started my first war tepat jam 745pm. why aku panggil war? sbb aku takut gile tapi aku kene gak buat....


on the first moment i touch you, i heart melted. kesian fondant, dh lama sgt aku buruk sangka. feel so soft & elastic.. 2-3 minit terus mengganas. ginii rupanya fondant ni.. uli punye uli.. haih, bukan senang eh especially to those yg takde basic knowledge. tu sbb la kene masuk kelas. sbb once dh tau basic, mulut katak pun boleh buat nnti (using gumpaste) ...


first experience? not bad.. except still lemah nk cover the whole cake. dhlah buat pakai 9" cake. i use 1kg fondant, ada balance sikit. nk role pun boleh tahan sbb roller tu ngam2 je size. letih gaklah.. masa nk pakai mat pun kompius mana satu depan belakang. glad syap kat HDU sempat bg tips.. nanee pun jadi mangsa gak kat facebook. sera jua.. huhu.. thanks korg! ni la budak baru belajar, abis semua kene gegar :P



so kesimpulan;

  • jgn takut nk tabur cornstarch masa uli.. sbb bile lekat leceh nk angkat fondant tu. nk angkat kene depakan tgn n angkat smpai centre of cake baru jatuhkan slow2...
  • once dh jatuh, smoother kene celup kat cornstarch supaya tak melekit. ada org pakai cing but i prefer cornstarch la sbb semut kan rajin jengok
  • pls pls.. choose the right cake. red velvet ni ok, cuma next time tak boleh la nk layer. bile layer senang dia slide especially masa delivery
  • kalau nk jugak layer, boleh fridgekan kejap tp nnti agak melekit (aku buat experiment smlm, before off to kl.. hehe)
  • so before terima request cake kene tanya pengantin, nk kek sedap ke nk kek cantik? for next order maybe i consider to join fondant + buttercream.. tgkla nnti kene experiment dulu...
  • if kene buat delivery, dont trust your driver.. kalau boleh peluk kotak kek tu kuat2 bg dia tak gerak esp kalau guna layer cake. senangg sgt nk slide sbb cake ni kite tak chill.. it happened to me. tu sbb kalau perasan final output terpaksa cover bunga kat tepi2. ikut hati nk buat simple cake sbb ada letter kat tepi2. tapi tula, kite hanya merancang tuhan yg menentukan. 1 hour before majlis, baru perasan kek ku dh senget sbb layer dalm tu hampir2 slide. luckily tak slide abis.. bagus gak si fondant ni dok cover kek dari tergelincir. plus point .

majlis pun dh selesai & everybody was happy (agaknya.. hehe) . terubat kekecewaan yg melanda. apa2 pun, thanks darling hubby for snapping pic @ the moment of love. one step ahead for YBTC walaupun tak ikut original plan. emergency plan byk take over :p

haaaa.. nmpak kan?? slide di dlm menyebabkan effect luaran mula dizahirkan.. heeeeeeee

senget sebenarnya kek ni, tp ku tutup dgn bunga2 kat sekeliling.. cover baikk kan? hehe

let me handle this.. so part defect potong dulu. huhu

ok lega nk selesai dh majlis.. meh makan!


updates : there will be another challenge on 15, 18, 19 & 26, 29th march.. i hope i can cope well after a longggg break. toodlesss!

anyway, akk soooo like la design kek yg nih.. simple, smart, moden & cumel... nk potong pun sng, takyah pk potong parat mane.. :)

hi dear nad merangkap sil ku yg baru.. thanks dear. sorry la buat p experiment on ur wedding cake. hehe. akak mmg suka buat keje gile sbb mengetest kat event penting. tapi time tu dh pasrah, kalau tak jadi maka buat yg lain.. heheh.. tido tak tido belakang kire. hihi.. happy tgk ur family happy makan. after event baru akak pengsan khatam tido.. happy wedding day sweetie, awak mmg sweet la.. i mmg suka tgk org comey2/cantik2 ni.. next time kite buat choc moist buh strawberry pulak ye..(hafiy kata, kek yulie).. jgn kite sesama naik bdn melampau sudah :p .. anyway, welcome to the family. ps: jgn risau, mil kite tu rawk. jenis selamba.. hehehehehe

patutnya lagi simple.. tp dh nama pun virgin cake, sure la byk incident yg tidak disangka2.. huhuhu.. if tak try tak tau dak? .. tenkius sis for supporting me from day one until now.. mmmuahh mmuahhhh
